I seriously did not expect any more subscriptions to arrive (even if I asked for it!) so omgosh, thank you so much to the two people who gave me my subscription! I swear i'll put it to good use! They don't want to be known over the internet, so they'll remain anonymous in DeviantART, but, still, thank you so so so much! One of the most awesome birthday gifts I got for my 19th Birthday! YAY!

CAMERA TALK

Anyway, on to serious matters.

Kristoff, My camera, is dying. It's definitely showing signs of age and I think it's finally about time that I start upgrading. I've gotten the go signal from my dad and so I need your advice: What camera + equipment should I get?

As of now, I own:
A Canon EOS 350D
Canon EF 50mm f/1.8
Canon EF-S 18-55mm f/4-5.6 (kit lens)
Canon Speedlite 580EX II

As much as I want a 5D Mk II, my money does not permit! I'm currently thinking of getting a 1) Canon EOS 50D or a 2) 2nd hand 5D Mk i.. or.. can you guys suggest anything?

1) 50D + 1 lens
2) 500D + 2 lenses
3) 5D mk i + 0 lens <-oh whatever too impractical haha

OKAY. 500D TELL ME WHY I SHOULD CHOOSE YOU OVER THE 50D.

The lenses i'm considering (I can only get one!):
(Wide Angle~)
~ Canon EF 17-40mm f/4 L USM
~ Canon EF 16-35mm f/2.8 L USM
~ Canon EF-S 10-22mm f/3.5-4.5 USM
(Yes, I want L Series lenses naa)
Oooor
~ (insert telephoto lens here)

I'm definitely leaning to a wide angle lens, since most of things I usually do are parties / group shots / etc! I still have my 50mm for portrait shots, although i'm considering a good wide aperture telephoto lens for portraits too. I'm considering third party lenses, but. yeah.

Hope you guys could help me out!

hmmm... i suggest you should go for the brand new 50D and a Canon EF 16-35mm f/2.8 L USM

whoops. i didn't see the edits. hmmm... 500D isn't full frame right? but it's more than good enough for it's price

plus you could get additional lens

i think it's also a good choice

the only full frame camera in the list is the 5D, and I don't think I can afford it! If I do get it, I really won't have any lens to use it with. Hahaha!

If you're going for a lens, you should get the "Canon EF 16-35mm f/2.8 L USM" because the "10-22mm" becomes "16-35.2" when you put it on an Canon APS-C camera but it won't work on full frame.

Don't worry about telephoto lenses, you don't use them that much and are easy to find/borrow.

I highly encourage you to wait for the Canon 7D or get the 5D Mk 2. We can discuss more options in YM. Remember what you said about the quality jump from APS-C to Fullframe.

Oh really? So the 16-35mm works the same as the 10-22mm on the 50D, if ever?

I can't wait for the 7D and I can't afford the 5D Mk ii :< It's really, really out of my budget. If I got the 5D Mk ii, that'll leave me with only the 50mm. Which. Is. Sort. Of. A. Struggle.
